  • Potato Blight

There have been two Full Smith Periods this week for my allotment post code, does this mean that it is inevitable that my potatoes will get blight?

What action would you grapes take if any?

Edit to add: I've just come across the big informative blight post where I should have asked this question so maybe some kind Mod could delete this post for me and i'll toddle over there and ask.

No, it's not inevitable, just more likely because the conditions that it needs to thrive have been met. Personally, I wouldn't do anything but keep a closer eye on them ready to remove any affected foliage. You can use the warning to spray your plants though, with Bordeaux Mixture or Dithane, to try and prevent blight, but you can't 'cure' it if you get it.
There's info on what to look out for in the thread called 'Is it Blight?' near the top of the Vegging Out section
