  • Who is the smartest?

I just witnessed this (see picture) and it prompted the question; Who is is the smartest? The Dog, who knows that it's more than his life is worth to even sniff the Cat's food dish - even when we're out. Or the Cat, who has just stolen half the Dog's tea, from right under his nose, and, whilst I'm in the same room?

What a gorgeous dog! The cat is well savvy though.
Spelling errors are my area of expertise. Apologies if my jumbled up mind/words cause offence.

The cat is sneaky, but the dog is smart cos he knows if he starts on the cat he will get his nose swiped with claws and it will hurt

The dog isn't smart, he misjudged you! he assumed that you would stop his food from being eaten by the cat, but you didn't.

The cat did not make the same misjudgement, so cat is smartest

The dog is the smartest because he knows two things:
          1. you will give him more food because the cat has eaten his:
          2. the cat will have eaten so much that he will be sick and the dog can eat that up too!

I have had cats and a dog in the same house and all of them were smart enough to eat what was available while nobody was watching. They knew at the end of the day once the bowls were empty that was it. The cats had the advantage of knowing when the dog wasn't going to be in the house because he was walked twice a day. The dog had the advantage of having a much bigger mouth (all the better for eating with my dear).

I miss him but he's coming for a visit on Saturday. He'll have a double advantage because I will be making a fuss of him. I don't have any grandchildren yet and I'm kind of hoping this is the closest I get.

I think the cat is smart and the dog is under the thumb!!!

I'm not bias in anyway towards cats <what's that, Lilly-the-cat??? >

                Aww the dog look sad

I'm not sure cats are smart as such (mega cat lover here) they just take it as read that everyone, people, dogs, other cats will bow to them - it's the law

We used to have a cat and a dog that swapped bowls half way through.
Whooops - now what are the dogs getting up to?

They are both the smartest, as they managed to find a home with you where they are fed, pampered, walked etc, while also benefitting from sleeping as often as they feel like, without any fear of being attacked.

Them there are well smart, you big dum dum.....
I'm only here cos I got on the wrong bus.

agreed, they've got G4 well trained there

                            Daft boogers, both of 'em!

It's not the first time it's happened, he didn't want the food, but having to watch her eating from his bowl, when he's good enough not to touch her food, must be very difficult for him. He's such a star. And, yes, he has me very well trained lol!
