  • Advice & help/guidance on a few matters please

Guys wondering if anyone has any suggestions on a few matters or the best route to success

We have deer munching our veggies straws and peas this time, we have today heightened all rear fencing to about 6ft odds anything else we could do that might work to keep them out? (they come into our neighbors garden and then into ours as vegetation behind ours is to dense for them)?

We to complicate matters have Japanese knotweed down one side of the garden and although it's been treated and starting to die back I would far rather eradicate it fully?

Our driveway is just off a serious blind apex on a downwards slope, we have permission to widen it so as to be able to turn around and come out frontwards but we have a 2ft drop off road level going back to nothing over a span of some 20ft long x 10th wide to fill in and retain to enable this to happen (we are going to attempt to lay som concrete blocks to achieve this but are unsure whether this can take the weight of a car ?) and wondered if there were any other ideas for a retainer? We thought of logs? Railways sleepers? But getting anything here is also a nightmare and costly

Lastly for now would rhodedenrons make a good hedge? we want a thick hedge and like the idea of a mass of flowers or can anyone suggest an alternative maybe that we could get loads of plants or cuttings off really cheaply (decent sized ones bare rooted) ?

And that's about it for now
New and learning - bear with us anything constructive welcomed

Wouldn't you rather plant something native and good for wildlife? Native Hedges and Mixes from Impact Plants

Flowers & fruits then, for the critters and you

Regular cutting or pulling will, after a number of years, eventually exhaust the rhizome and kill the plant
