  • A taste of summer.

Had my first taste of summer today, well two actually.

First I managed to get to my second ripe strawberry before SWMBO got her sticky fingers on it.

Second two pods of garden peas straight of the plant

Whats you fav taste of summer?

Raspberries!! I'm nearly there, if only the rain stays away. I hate seeing them go mouldy before I can eat them

I second that... Raspberries are amazing I got absolutely tonnes of rasps on my bushes outside. Now we just need some sun to ripen them and make them sweet

Peas and new potatoes, followed by raspberries and strawberries, with cream. I'm soooo hungry now.

For me, it's peaches and melons. I could live in a bowl of chopped melon.........

we've been munching salad for a few weeks now .... lettuces, pak choi, rocket, spinach leaves, chives etc ....
i spotted a couple of strawberries turning red at the weekend .... hopefully they haven't been scoffed by the slugs and birds .....

I have already had courgettes and cucumbers but am still eagerly awaiting my yellow and red raspberries.....Not sure if my strawberries are going to be all that great....
I dream of a better tomorrow, where chickens can cross the road and not be questioned about their motives....

Peas without doubt are my most favourite garden pick, but I also love the first pickings of broad beans double podded.
I also love the earthy rich flavour of the first new pots, and a warm cherry tomato off the vine, oh go on then I love it all....
I'm only here cos I got on the wrong bus.
