  • Scotch bonnet getting too big for the windowsill.

My SB chilli plant has got far bigger or rather, taller than I had expected. It has shot up from about 10 inches to what now must be over 3 foot tall. It has branched out at the top and showing some buds, but I can no longer fit it on my windowsill properly.

The top leaves including most of the flower buds are not getting any sun, will this cause them to die, or will the lower leaves compensate?

I do have a greenhouse, but for whatever reason the 4 Capsicum plants ( sweet peppers) I have in there have shown much much worse growth than my sweet pepper or chilli plants grown indoors. In the GH my peppers are about 8-10 inches tall max and indoors they are all well over a foot tall more bushy and showing buds.

For this reason I am loathe to take my SB plant outside, especially with the weather not really being very stable.

I can keep the plant on my windowsill but the top leaves and buds would not be getting proper sunlight, is this an issue? Anyone got any ideas what I can do?

    Thanks

Take it out to the greenhouse. Harden off a bit first though. It will strengthen up in the breeze.

It will continue to grow with the all directional light and keep producing till the first frosts.

Hope it doesnt mind the greenhouse then as the other Peppers hated it. I shall move it out this week sometime.
