    Our school group was on tele!! :)

    Way back in NOvember my school garden group was filmed at work juicing apples with Leeds urban harvest.

    The programme was aired last night!! It was on BBC1s Inside Out Yorkshire programme

    The Leeds Urban growing section is at the end of the programme at about 19.08 minuteswith Leeds Urban Harvest at about 24.25 and New Shoots at Bracken Edge Primary at about 25.06ish.
    It views better if the section is viewed all together though!

    The Leeds Urban Harvest group has a web page and a FB page if anyone fancies getting involved! They are a great bunch.

    Plus if anyone in Leeds fancies volunteering at the school you can do so thorugh me as the chair. You will need to be CRB checked and attend a child protection session though! But we would love some more experienced growers on board!

        I had a dry mouth and my voice was about 2 octaves deeper than it is usually Di! Plus I sound posh!! My tele voice dont ya know! Really glad the kids got on to be honest! They were so excited! Wish Id glammed up!! Wouldve ended up with panda eyes though!

          I was 'got' when I handed in our petition to keep the lollipop man...I was assured I'd not need to do any talking...not only did he make me speak but the local news decided to film and broadcast it. It's horrid isn't it...but I assure you you're being over critical of yourself.

            Yep!! They told me that they wanted to interview the head, but she disappeared when it was due to happen so they pounced on me! Im surprised they managed to get any footage of the kids really as it was a sea of heads all ducking for the apple juice! Good publicity for the school and group though! Plus Urban harvest really do a fantastic job, proper community group. Great aims and great people

                  Thanks guys, it was nerve wracking but worth it. Dont think Ill be waiting for requests for me to be the next Alice Fowler though!!
