  • Greenhouse strawberries dying?

I have strawberry runners which I bought at a garden centre. I put them in a very warm greenhouse. The leaves started to open but then went brown around the edges.
    Whats wrong?

Are they in pots? Strawberries don't really need warmth, my runners in 3" pots are sat outside with no protection. In the next couple of weeks I'll plant them in their permanent bed and they'll take off. Sounds like they could be a bit warm / thirsty although you do tend to get quite a lot of dead leaves at this time of year. When spring comes I cut them all off to expose the new leaves coming from the crown.

Some of us live in the past, always talking about back then. Some of us live in the future, always planning what we are going to do. And, then there are those, who neither look behind or ahead, but just enjoy the moment of right now.

Which one are you and is it how you want to be?

Too warm, too dry? Strawberries really don't need to be in a heated greenhouse
