  • Interview!!!

Weds 22nd...it'll be my first in probably 15 years

I was really worrying about two things about my application, firstly how vague my work history was...I can't remember what I did when, and back then, it didn't seem important to keep a record. Secondly, I convinced myself that I'd somehow managed to not send the application...it was online.

Feel a mixture of excitement, total worry about the interview, also, getting back to work after ten years of being a stay at home mum....if of course I get the job.

Congratulations Di! One hurdle jumped and you landed on your feet, next Wednesday, do the same! If nothing else it'll keep you off the streets....

It's for relief at the same place I worked before having the kiddies, but with the chance of shift work in other places. I know the team would like to have me back and, although the old self esteem has taken a little battering of late, it's a job I know I'm good at. Still a bit nervous though. Thanks. x

Try not to be to nervous di (easy for me to say). Remember this is your chance to show off, your chance ro remind them how good you are.

        GOOD LUCK.

You mean you've done this job before, you know that you can do it, and you're still having the jitters? Get a grip, girl!! Show them the "old" Di and grab that job by the scruff of its neck!

DI,you will be fine,as soon as you meet face to face with your interviewer, your legs will stop shaking lol,and the the fact you been there before,am sure they would have looked up any records before offering the interview,so look at it as red tape,i spent aprox 27 years at home doing the odd outdoors and temps, and was absolutely fine at the inerview, your'll be like a duck to water,so make sure your plumage is plumped up lol before you hit the water

                  a duck to water,

Plumage cut this morning and first lot of dye, since Christmas is now sat under a carrier bag on my head....annoyingly, it will probably need doing again before the interview.

Mudpies....believe me,'what to wear?' was one of the first things I thought of. It's a job that, at least ten years ago, you wore what you wanted, so long as it wasn't to revealing or offensive, anything went. Obviously, for an interview, you need to make an effort, but I can also remember the rolled eyes from yesteryear if someone turned up for an interview in heels and dressed to the nines. I have a week or so to get mates opinions and try on a million different outfits...see, there's a reason why I hoard

Good luck Di, though I'm sure you'll not need it. My daughter has just started work after 14 years of being a stay-at-home mum. You've gained an awful lot of experience in management during those years chuck, just remember that.

You've got an interview - you have aroused their interest, BUT do remember YOU are also interviewing THEM!

As to what to wear, I would say always go suited and booted no matter what the job is. Things have changed since thee and me were 'on the market', check that your shoes/boots are polished, that you have a clean, pressed hankie, that your fingernails are clean and clipped and that you have no parsley in your teeth.

Other than that - relax and be yourself.

They have to sell themselves to you just as much as you do to them
