  • Unpaid item case on eBay............

Someones taken an unpaid item case out agaist me on eBay!

I paid for the item the following day by cheque! I'll be blowed if I'm sending another one. I was given two different addresses to send payment to.........one being a PO box no
Sod em,I've told ebay that if they are claiming the cheque hasn't arrived, I'll just cancel the cheque and take my business somewhere else!

Surely if the Cheque hasn't arrived, they have a genuine grievance? They may think you didn't send it, and are wasting their time.

If they say the cheque hasn't arrived, then cancel it as soon as possible - I've heard of quite a bit of post going astray over the Xmas period, and not arriving at destination, so better safe than sorry - you don't want a dishonest third party getting your money, after all.

Think maybe this one needs a new thread. Ebay can be a problem for a lot of people, and it will probably get lost if it gets included in the minor rant thread.

Depends whether they've checked their PO box address AND there other address? It was only for a tenner and I just can't be arrised with the hassle!

I have a Paypal acount which was used frauulently by someone to gain access to my bank account. (to which it was linked)
Was robbed of a couple of hundred pounds which Paypal said 'sorry' for and refunded.

Put me off using paypal though!

Well, you either want the item, or you don't, and if you don't why did you buy it? I think you're being rather unfair, you stroppy ole b*gger. The Cheque may genuinely be lost. The PO Box address mail, may actually be delivered to the the same address.

That's very unfortunate. Glad PayPal refunded you - I've always found them to be fair. So far.

Thats the whole point though G4! If i was the seller, I would have made contact with a buyer asking them if there was a problem rather than just starting an unpaid item case ! Stuff em, i've decided to go elsewhere. I only bought from them because they accepted cheques anyway!

                          An update........

The seller is now selling the same item with a £10.99 Buy it now price tag instead of a tenner and no longer accepts cheques? Isn't it strange how my cheque was never received just when he stopped accepting cheques!

I've contacted him/her and let them know that the reason I bought the item was because of the price and the cheque acceptance...................

If they'd 'nicked' your cheque the bank wouldn't give you your money back. But Paypal does. Yet you prefer to send a cheque? Ey?!
