Did anyone else get this for christmas?

I bought it for OH and we have had our first creation from it - veggie biryani with garlic breads.

    Very nice it was too.

Enjoy Corris, I bought it for my SonIL although some naughty grapes on here tried to persuade me to keep it for myself.

Corris thats one of my favourite books and I'm 'guilty' of recommending it to friends but one didn't listen and still gave the book away

There are so many more in the book though (obviously!) - we loved the series, and tried several during it, but now we are poring over the many many pictures very excitedly.

I received it as a present from my mum. I can't wait to try the beetroot tart - I'm going to grow 5 varieties this year (we luuuurrrve beetroot in our house). Ali

I have sworn that I shan't cook that until I harvest my first beetroot from the garden.

So we have a long wait - I hope it's worth it!

I like the look of the beetroot and cheddar pizza too.

I love the fact that he uses things you can grow - I have a few vegetarian books and they have nothing but ingredients that you have to go to specialist stores to buy.

I bought it as a present for myself, along with a Taste of the Unexpected by Marc Diacono - they were on sale at £10 or so each at the River Cottage book shop on Amazon. Haven't looked at them much yet, let alone cooked from them but I definitely will!.

I'm going to get it from the library, because Mr TS was impressed with the programmes. Me, I'm happy just eating veggies stir fried or steamed, I don't really like fancy food

I got the book for xmas! Some fantastic recipes and i look forward to next summer when the ingredients become seasonal- however I was concerned by some of the air miles likely to be involved in several of the recipes.

Got the book before it was published - its a lovely one.

I have made acouple of bits, I particularly liked the 'corner shop spanakoppita".
It has some good vegan recipes too.
I would recommend it, but wait until its back down to a tenner at Amazon.

I got it for my birthday and have cooked loads of stuff from it, really good recipes based round fresh veggies and not that poncey stuff that some chefs do.

Some of us live in the past, always talking about back then. Some of us live in the future, always planning what we are going to do. And, then there are those, who neither look behind or ahead, but just enjoy the moment of right now.

Which one are you and is it how you want to be?

I watched the TV programmes and really enjoyed them and we had roast sprouts and shallots for Xmas dinner - v.good indeed. I have an Amazon voucher as a pressie from younger son - might buy the book!

you won't regret it I'm sure susie. It's rare that I'm so pleased with a cookery book - usually you only do about 4 recipes - but I'll have a stab at a lot of these.

He does easy bread dough which then makes into little garlic breads in the frying pan and we've had them three times already.

Personally I prefer "Everyday" - followed by this one, but will definately take a look at the little garlic breads recipe, thanks Corris.
