  • Will you help support our English Tradition?

    Hi Grapes.

    Favour??

I am wondering if I could maybe ask anyone to join this FB page. In joining you will help support a very worthy cause.

I grew up in this village spending most of my time on the green, watching cricket and was friends with most of the cricket club!

Now some residents are complaining that they get balls in their garden, one in particular is using solicitors to try and stop the cricket being played. Something of which Bearsted is famed for and has happened since 1749!!

It is just outragious.......... you wouldnt buy a house near Heathrow then complain of the airoplanes, or house on a railway live and complain about the trains!!!

This is the link to the page.... much more info on there.

    Log in | Facebook

And this link show you what a pillock the woman who started this is..... (by the way my first job was working for the Chiapinni's.. didnt like them then, oh and the house they have bought was a private school when I was at school, it closed about 20 years ago!)

    Barking Moonbat Early Warning System

Anyway, the more numbers the better, so please just ask to join and I am sure you will be welcome with open arms.

    Thanks

Lady in the Village where I kept my horse used to complain about horse poo on the road. There were more horses than people round that way. She had just moved down from Fulham.........

I know - that beefeater! the sweetcorn used to be the only veggie dish I could eat back in the 80s.

My mate H* used to work there. Happy days.

Dear Mrs. Chiapinni. If you don't like the traditions of the Village you have moved into, then may I suggest you sell your House and move somewhere else. Idiot!

We have the two village pubs play each other on the green up here, then when the picnics are finished and the dads have played the mums and kids at tug of war, we all get blottoed and fall over. It's TRADITIONAL! Whilst I am not a FaceAcher I wish you well with this Munch. Am surprised nobody is thinking of contacting the local news...

I don't Face book Munch, but I fully support you. How silly for this woman to create like this, it's just not cricket. I'm sure traditional will win, but like VVG says, I'd be getting some other publicity as well.

Sadly they do just that all the time, I used to live in a lovely rural hamlet, similar scenario-Hooray Henrys buying up all the properties for Retirement/holiday homes, and I can remember one Complaining to the council and anyone else who would listen that the Farmer was
"Making a terrible noise, driving his tractor past my house everyday and moving his Cows along the road causing them to wait"
Nedless to say, they were told Welcome to the real world, And if you dont like it, go back where you came from.
Have joined your group. The woman is totaly Barking- To Quote Jeremy Clarkson she needs "dragging out, putting against a wall..........."
                        Good luck with your campaign,

Well, I think the person in question has a point Munch, I would personally hate to be bombarded by cricket balls while tending my rose bushes in the front garden. Thankfully I managed to get the 12th hole moved when I purchased my holiday home in West Wales alongside machynys golf course. These things simply shouldn't be permitted, besides Rugby simply is the only sport for a gentleman.
I'm only here cos I got on the wrong bus.

I know this is not a kind thing to say (sorry)
                              however....
seems like she has a point- I think a nice high (very) orange or blue wooden fence along the front of the house would help both - yes its a shame it has to be so high but you never know with cricket balls.....

                              Good luck all-
long live village greens and all the fun that has been had a them

ps another idea - advertise the green for brass band and morris men practice sessions every weekend!

Headfry hangs head in shame for being nasty ....again sorry but village greens are just that and they are an important part of this country
