I'm tempted. I'll always prefer real books for reading at home but it would make journey and holiday reading so much easier.
I was feeling part of the scenery
I walked right out of the machinery

I've got 800 kindle books that my brother saved onto my hard drive for me. Mostly sci-fi if you like that sort of thing.

They'll be down to £50 before you know, Amazon will be putting all their effort in selling the Kindle Fire for £130 and will let the Kindle slip all the while.

its a fast pace world at the moment. Kindle Fire 2 is out next year which will be the 10" size version

My advice, stick to the paperbacks for just a little longer and see how this all pans out up to Christmas and into the first week of January.

they do refurbished kindles for the same price - £89 , or the 3g ones for £111, I cant find the link but it'll be on moneysavingexpert somewhere.
same guarantee etc as with brand new ones.

Mr TS just got a Kindle - at least the house will stop filling up with 3-for-2 paperbacks now

(he's used it once. He's used the canoe once. The big gas bbq, twice. Workmate, once. Pressure washer, not at all)

Keep an eye on eBay, there may be a used-once Kindle on there in a few months

Mrs AP impulse bought one off Amazon yesterday after seeing the price. Maybe I'll be able to get off to sleep at bedtime now without the noise of turning pages . Or will I miss the noise and still not be able to get off to sleep.

                        lol at you

Mr TS once, again having woken himself up with his snoring, accused me of "reading too loudly"

Would be nice for holidays (especially when we have a luggage limit) but I enjoy books too much (just having them around) to want one otherwise, so price is going to have to be WAAAAAY lower than anything I've seen so far!
