Too much of a trek for me, but enjoy VVG, should be good, there's a lot of mushrooms out and about now, plus the wet weather has really boosted the fruit.
I'm only here cos I got on the wrong bus.

That's a shame - I'll let you know how I get on if Alys goes ahead...already thorned from falling into hedgerows:-) never sure on mushrooms although my dad always took me across the farmer's field for mushrooms before the cart flattened them. Could do with mushroom guidance - I see Charlie boy has been foraging around Balmoral for them.

Did you go? I was going to but what with the Hairy Bikers and weeding a hooge pumpkin patch today I was slightly tired.

I did, for a brief moment.Bumped into VirginVegGrower, that was lovely, able to put a name to the face was really quite informative. A few folks with notebooks, mandatory IPhone. Would have been nice to see other grapes. May be next time.

Hopefully there's a lot of sloe involved last I heard. A nice bit of flavoured Gin, me thinks.

                      Here she is! Kerching...
Did think my namesake might have come along naughty girl. Was fantastic - weather great, come home with a trug full of sloes:-)
Was amazed at how many people were less than knowledgeable on different fruits...must thank my mother.
Great to meet you too HH - it was a shame you had to leave. We went through 1.5 hours of rapid walking on both sides of Kings Heath taking in wild raspberries, sweet chestnuts, medlars, crab apples, Japanese quince, sloes, haws, hips and wild plums. My favourite - the mulberry had people foxed. How lucky are we in S Derbyshire. Miss Z - you can meet me for some mulberry picking in BoT.
I saw the tweet about hairy bikers. Was it good? Hope they were cooking your heritage veg.
Alys doing another foraging session in Spring. Hope to see both of you there and we can have a drink after maybe :-)

yes, definitely up for a spring time trek. Will make a bigger window for it who'd thought you have so much on your doorstep.

Have to keep in mind Mr.VVG's approximation of what 100 sqm looks like. And I'm already contemplating a Gladys mark two. Would be wrong not to!

I think a 10x 10 metre half plot is enough to start with. If you're clever with your rotation and don't intend planting lots of fruit trees you will be able to enjoy a Lottie that size. Really hope you get it - you should trip the A38 and come see our plot. You can always pop your name down for another half or full size once you've got this one. Councils are seeming to rent by half plot now owing to the sudden explosion of waiting lists. Our PC were renting full size plots last year - now it is half plots only.
Were you there when Alys pointed out her allotment? Thought she grew in her garden.

I was given the figure of 4x25. I've got a pencil sketch in my log of what I'd like to plant. Since it's only onions, garlic, acquadulce, spring cabbage, perhaps winter lettuce, I have some time to tweak. Need to get my head around successional planting. I get very easily distracted by the contents of my seedbox.
