  • Wish me luck!

Well, after 23 years with my current employer, and a nightmare month just gone (63 extra unpaid hours in past 4 weeks and an abysmal stocktake result that wasnt my fault), and facing a possible disciplinary for failing to complete all the procedures that we are required to do weekly (98% compliance, not enough hours to do the other 2%), Ive finally reached that point where its time to look for another position, and as such have applied to a large supermarket chain for a job.

After passing their online assessment and being told I would be invited to an assessment center (which hasnt happened yet) I sent my CV and a covering letter into hubby's store, for the Manager and Personnel Manager to look at, and today I got a phone call inviting me to call in tomorrow (5pm) for an interview and chat about my CV! Im not even sure what position they are interviewing me for (I said although I am a Store Manager I would be willing to take anything of a similar salary (or even slightly less) in order to learn their way of doing things and hopefully then be in a position to advance my retail career in the not too distant future! Even their Dept Managers starting salaries are the same as mine after 4 years in role and having had over £4K of rises in the past 4 years!

Please keep your fingers crossed that I am what they are looking for, that they have something suitable for me and that they are able to offer me a position.

Sorry not been on here much recently, work has been hell for the past 6 weeks and I havent even been able to keep on top of the plots (there are crops growing well, and the Bees are doing fine, but there is also a lot of weeds and a lot of work to do to get it back to its proper condition).

Hopefully tomorrows interview will be the start of a new career direction and will give me a much needed fresh start, any positive thoughts at about 5pm tomorrow would be most welcome!
    Blessings

Very best of luck for tomorrow MrsD, and you have my employment sympathies, you really do. Well done you for doing something to better your situation. We work to live, not live to work...I could do with remembering that sometimes

Hiya Mrs D. Take it as read that my best thoughts will be with you tomorrow. You sound like you need this fresh start so I'll send out some positive vibes just for you.
As for the plots being a bit unkempt, I remember when you and Mr D were just starting out and your enthusiasm just oozed from your posts and the pair of you have achieved so much in what is a relatively short space of time so I know that once you get yourself back in the groove workwise, the plots will be immaculate in lickety split time.
Best wishes from me and mine
                Dave

Best of luck MrsD. You're a hard worker, and don't deserve this treatment from your current employers. Hope that the prospective ones recognise what a gem you are, and jump at the chance to take you on board. x

if you are not happy in your work, its a waste of time... any good company would ensure thier management and workforce is happy as its the key to everything.
