  • Blackberry leaves going red

The edges of the leaves on my blackberry turned red, starting with the oldest leaves. Then the leaves get red spots before going completely red. At first I thought they might just have got a bit cold early on but it's affecting the new growth as well. Anyone else had similar or know what I need to do to sort it?

    Ta very much.

I posted a similar query about my loganberry, but didn't get any responses. So, while I can't help you, I'd also be interested in responses!

It doesn't look very big - how long has it been planted? The cane with the reddish leaves looks like the original one, it is carrying fruit. You do have a healthy looking new cane growing (the bright green one). This is the cane that will carry fruit next year. They get quite long - do you have any support for it?

It went in during the winter, so it really hasn't grown much (it's Loch Maree btw). The new growth is also starting to get a red tint around the edges.

Hope your loganberry sorts itself out gan heather - have you got the little spots as well?
