  • Expensive games?

My grandchildren all have these expensive computer games and what-have-you. Today, two of the cousins, both aged 8, have played for 4 hours continuously with the box from Himself's 48" TV. Their imagination amazed me. They have also persuaded me to keep the box in the kitchen (I was dying to get rid of it) until the next time they are together so they can play again. It made me remember when mine were small.

I made a house for our little one out of a car seat box, my wife painted it. Who needs all the expensive toys!

my dad made us a lean to house/shed and upended an orange box which we painted rings on for a cooker.
My sister and I loved it and played for hours in there

When my youngest was about two years old, his xmas presents were flung aside in favour of his guitar. A shoe box with an elastic band around. Would have saved a fortune if I'd known what he wanted

... which they'll play for seven hours straight. Yet expect a child to do 2 hrs of music practise a day and you get screams of "child abuse"

And unlike an X-Box, it can still work after being flattened for a week !

I hear that air guitars are even cheaper...nothing to break....and no annoying twanging noises either....
