  • Ants in my Pear Tree

Help anybody. I've got an Ants nest under my Pear tree. Any idea how I can get rid of them. I was thinking of ***** fluid but it could kill the roots. Anybody got any ideas please. Thanks.

    Tomas.

I have put a little antstop trap under my plum tree dont know if it will work, had lots of ants last year. You could try that untill you get a better solution?

The ants won't kill the tree, don't worry about them

Probably a sign that you have got aphids on the tree. Perhaps you should take a look. As Two Sheds says ants on their own won't do any harm but aphids might.

Thanks a lot fella's. As long as they wont kill the tree I'm happy. Meanwhile I'll keep checking for Aphids. Thanks again.

I have the same problem with a small hazel tree, the ants farm the aphids, stopping them getting eaten by other things which is fine but I end up with honeydew (greenfly sugary droppings) over everything else underneath it
