  • Plug plants.....

Has anyone used jersey plants direct, only they seem to have some pretty good offers on trailing petunias and geraniums. After a few to grow on in the greenhouse in march.

Cheers, any other suggestions for places would also be appreciated.

I have for pansies. The plants turned up on time, well packed and healthy.

The small plug plants are VERY small though and it took forever to pot them up

The plugs I've bought have always done well.

Jersey are a good company, as are Brookside Nursery.

      Go for it!

I use them every year, highly recommended.

I can't remember who I bought my primrose plugs from, but they were teeny tiny (the cell trays were about 1cm each hole) (I suspect T&M because I always have vouchers for them)

I potted on, and potted on, and they have been brilliant - they're as big as any other primrose now, and haven't stopped flowering since October

Have had no real problems with Jersey plants. One year the plugs had been tipped upside down and initially it looked a right mess when I opened them up. But I carefully sorted them out and potted up straight away and only lost one plant so didn't bother to complain. Have ordered geranium and double impatiens this year.

I have had plants from Dobies. Not all suppliers deliver to Ireland. Having said that I got great plantys from them. Had Fuschia, petunia and trailing Geraniums.

160 geranium plug plants arrived several days ago from Jersey plants. Nice looking plugs and now all potted up and in a propagator for the next few weeks. Only on 10deg and as long as the weather doesn't get bad I will reduce the heat over the next few weeks.
