    Could anyone possibly identify the pod shown in the following photographs

      I have grown a bean called "purple queen" in the past and there are a number of other peculiar coloured bean pods, but your picture shows quite a short one, whereas most beans would be longer. I will be interested to see if someone comes up with the correct answer.

        Could it be a purple pea plant? Or a hyacinth bean?

          Plus the inside of the pod is all gooey.....

          Is it on a tree, shrub, bush; where did you see it, garden, wood etc etc......

          Are those the leaves of that plant showing?

              It might be a red herring, but the flatworm suggests the photos come from New Zealand..?
