Yes. As they are legumes their roots contain bacteria that help improve the nitrate content of the soil.Comment

Do the perrenial one have muchm of a fragrance ?? seemed to me that of the two I set the short stemed variety were much more fragrant than the long stemed variety

I don't think the perennials have any scent but I could be wrong. I thought mine had finished a week or so ago but there are fresh flowers on them today so I will leave those to form seed pods for next year's flowers

Mine are still in flower but only the pink ones for some reason.Location....East Midlands.Comment

I just pull the whole lot up when they've finished and put them on the compost heap. Nitrogen nodules do as much good there as in the border.Comment
