  • Capillary Matting

    Hello,

I am currently using a self-watering tray in my greenhouse which basically cosists of a tray / water resevoir with capillary matting dangling in the resevoir at each end. I'm finding this very useful for seedlings but after a month or two's use the matting is starting to smell a bit & is going green - what is the best way to clean this so i can re-use?

    many thanks xx

I lay mine out on the patio and hose it down every now and then, I've seen some black sheeting with holes in that you lay over the matting that's supposed to help.

Lift it out and give it a good rinse in clean water. Either in a bucket or a bath, depending on the size.
