  • Marigolds are taking over my garden!

We have recently moved into a new property, and the previous tenants have filled the garden with marigolds.

I'm really not a big fan, so how do i get rid of them. Is it just a case of dig them all up? (As you can probably tell i am new at this gardening lark.)

Thanks in advance for all the help.

You don't even need to dig. Just give them a gentle pull and up they come.

But they will also pop up next year from the seeds of this year's - so you may take pity on the insects and leave a couple of clumps for them next year.
Whooops - now what are the dogs getting up to?

Most varieties are annuals, so they do not last the winter. They are good at attracting bees and hoverflys to the garden, so don't pull all of them up.
