  • 'Red hot pokers' not even luke warm...

I planted several Red Hot Pokers (Kniphofia) in amongst my foxgloves and 'giant daisies (what are they called) a few years back.

Every year the plants grow well, look healthy, but never produce flowers?

    Funny you should say that!!

A few years back a Grape kindly sent me a few babies in the post- and I waited 2 years as they grew and grew, and when they finally flowered they were tremendous!

We brought a few pieces of that root here when we gave up the lottie- where I'd planted them- and wasn't expecting even a teeney sizzle for a couple of years.
Well blow me down and tickle me timbers- cos all 3 pieces have 9" flowers on them within 6 months of planting them out) eek:

I must say though that what we brought over was 90% root- bit like moving rhubarb...so..what I'm saying is that maybe yours are setting root????

    ( bit slow though - I agree!)
