today i noticed the blackberries are starting to sprout leaves,daffodils are out,bluebells are poking their heads out and someone i know has seen 2 butterflies this year. what signs of spring have you seen.

Dafs out weeds going made on my plot tempreture in double figures in london
but im going to make the most of it lots of work on my plot this weekend
and plenty of teabags cant do anything without a cuppa -
Only got snowdrops!~
Aerodynamically the bumblebee shouldn't be able to fly, but the bumblebee doesn't know that so it goes on flying anyway.

My wife and daughter saw a big dopey queen wasp. They stuck a blob of marmalade under its nose which it lapped up with great relish before flying of to find a nesting placeComment

Cyclamen coum, snowdrops, crocus and anemone blanda in full flower. Forsythia buds starting to swell and show colour. Chives starting to grow.
With the bad weather last week haven't been to look at the fruit.
On the wildlife front, the birds are starting to sing the 'dawn chorus'.
It's quite noticeably lighter earlier in a morning (not staggering about in the dark, in danger of tripping over the 'death traps' I've left lying around, in order to go to the loo!).

Cycled up to the Lottie today (5 mile round trip, don't need a car for that :-))

I do hope that wasp wasn't headed for one of your birdy nesting boxes ! !
I told Trousers this story tonight and he was hugely unimpressed, so I hope you all will find a little 'aaah' in your hearts where he didn't?
I had a few bits to get from our local supermarket yesterday, and whilst I was walking round, I became aware of something crawling on the shoulder of my jacket, so I 'brushed it off', as ya do....
It wasn't till I got to the checkout and deposited my shopping on the counter that I noticed a wide-awake ladybird. Thinking on my feet, I scooped it up onto my 'loyalty card' attached to my keyring, and as it crawled onto the keyring fob I handed the whole bunch to the nice lady, saying, "Careful of him, I'm taking him home to my Greenhouse".
Well, no wonder my reputation goes before me !! She nearly wet herself laughing, and the ladybird is home safe with me now.

My chives are growing too.
In town the other day i spotted a huge queen wasp resting on the ground it was huge.
Yes the green sprouts of weeds are also appearing in the ground too.
The pidgeons seem to think its spring!
Daffodils are now showing yellow and will open fully in the next warm spell. Comment

Buds on my first clematis. will have to wait until morning to look at the name tag. Its one of the first, has lime green leaves and purple flowers.
Birds singing. Daffs and Crocus in bloom, also some polyanthus.
generally, everything looking more posative.

Our daffs and crocuses are out. The pond is full of frog and frog spawn. It's just about t-shirt weather, the weeds are now on a mass rampage and all the trees in the garden are in bud.
Oh we saw a wasp as well...didn't last long though as the last thing I need is a swarm of wasps in the garden with the children around!Rachel

Crocuses are out, some local daffs are too, and the bluebells wont be far behind them! SAaw a big bumbly bee yesterday, and the frogs n toads on the plot are getting randy! Everything seems to have that 'green haze or buzz' about it, nothing you can visibly see, but more that you can sense that its waking up and the sap is rising, reday for it to burst forth in a frantic effort of growing!Blessings
