  • Leeks get flower heads

Ive been away and when I got back the remaining leeks had started to get flower heads are they still ok to eat, any diference in taste or are thay past their best.

You can still eat them but they will have a hard stem running up the middle of them which is a bit tough so I'd suggest removing that bit.

Some of us live in the past, always talking about back then. Some of us live in the future, always planning what we are going to do. And, then there are those, who neither look behind or ahead, but just enjoy the moment of right now.

Which one are you and is it how you want to be?

Thanks for that all done, one more question, is it Ok to put something else straight in where the leeks have come from as the plot is only small and space is needed !!
Thinking of celery that is planted between cabs and caulis and needs moving, I know it can be awkward but the wife makes lovely chicken and veg soup so we use quite a bit.
