  • Moving tulips?

I'm doing a bit of work in the garden & want to move some tulips. The long border they are currently in is going to be raised by about 30cm so I need to move them or store them somehow.

Is it too early to lift & dry them? Or do you think I'd be better off repotting the on a temporary basis?

    Thanks

I think bulbs are meant to have around 6 weeks of sun on their leaves post flowering to store the energy ready for next year. Unless they were quite early that probably means too soon to dry them out and store that way. If possible I'd wait until the leaves start to die back then heel them in/pot them up and pop them back when your done (presuming you're not going to be ages).

That's just what I'd try - I'm by no means an expert tho.
