Can any one give me the botanical species of a perennial sweet pea. The growth looks like a weedy spindley veg pea. Grows about 5ft and has pale pale pink flowers with pale cerise wings. It is also fragrant. Flowers look like phalaneopsis. Any ideas? Know its not the latiflolius and isn't a vetch. It was growing in an ancient cottage. Will try and post photo later in summer. Dincur the perennial ones aren't scented. Are you sure it's not an annual one you are thinking of?
Or - now this is a bit of lateral thinking here - a wisteria?Whooops - now what are the dogs getting up to?Comment

Some actually sent me a msg and said it grows wild in the ditches in France. They offered to send seeds too. It was very kind. This pea isn't any of the usual vigorous species I've seen and I can't really make out the photo T8Ter- thanks, but it is really glorious. My aunt picks bunches of it for the house. So sweetly scented. Its got a really small stalk though compared to flower size. If you had this I can say you would top it over the annual sweet peas. Thats a bold statement huh! It'll be out in June I think so I'll post a photo. Thanks for your help. Will post species when I find out.Comment
