    Fruit

You should be getting fruit now from them. Are they self fertile? If not you may need to have to get some more.

      Victoria plums are self-fertile.

Cox's Orange Pippin is also self fertile - at least the one in our garden is. What variety of cherry is it?

          Fruiting

If this is the case, you should have at least had fruit set in the first year, how old are the trees? I know you say 3 years but how old where they when they came to you?

I have two mini apple trees in pots in my garden and they are two years old, they show some beautiful blossom - but no fruit. I was told it can take apple trees about 3-5 years before they establish enough to fruit.

Hi Steve, I have a 3year old Victoria plum. It is outdoors in a container. Last summer i got enough fruit from it to make 12 lbs of jam. It is self polinating and trouble free.

How big a tree is it?

I have recently bought, from a fruit specialist, a 3yr old victoria plum on pixie rootstock which I think is the most dwarfing variety you can buy.(it's about chest height at the moment) I was told that it should produce fruit this year. It's buds are just thinking about opening.

We also have a Mirabelle de Nancy which was a '2-3 season plant' which was planted out last winter, and that is on St Julian A rootstock. That was about 9ft high before pruning this year, and didn't flower last year. That's not even showing signs of opening up!

i'm told pixie's can grow as tall as 12ft but normally a max of 10ft.

Der hey Nicos - how bigs your chest?!

So if you get blossom (and all goes well) will you get fruit? Never grown fruit before only scrumped it!
