  • How long are flower seeds viable?

    Hi
I have lots of flower seed packets but none seem to have a use by date. Does this mean they will keep in good conditions for several years??

I had some 'Swan River Daisies' free in a gardening mag about 10 years ago. I finally got round to sewing them last year (eek) and they were okay. Possibly not a strong as they could have been, but the germination rate was pretty high.

My feeling is, what have you got to lose by sewing them after the use by date - the price of a bit of compost. Its got to be worth a gamble.
