Sweetpeas - Advice please

Looks fine - it's really just a plastic coldframe. Your sweetpeas won't need any heat, just protection from the elements (sp frost).

I agree it should be O.K. I use a plastic zip up greenhouse to over-winter mine in & they're usually fine.

Nice one, If i put sweet peas in now when will they be ready to put out and flower etc ?
I haven't had much to do with flowers but i promised my wife i would pretty up the patio this year.

I don't think I've put mine out soon enough, they are looking a bit leggy, will they still be ok do you think? I was waiting for the majority to germinate and the ones that have germinated first look a bit thin and straggly.

How many sets of leaves do they have? Did you use seed compost?

They have one set of leaves at the top and some of them are about 6inches. I did use seed compost and sowed to the pack instructions but they have been very sporadic in germinating some pots (3 seeds) haven't even bothered to show their faces at all.

I just don't see the point Bex.
Plant sweet peas in the spring and they will be fine.
Plant in the autumn and Maybe ? they will be 2 weeks early.
Does it matter ?
I'll be keeping mine til March/April.

Thanks Alice, its a good job it was some free seed, buy 3 packs get sweetpeas free otherwise I'd be gutted.

I'll put them outside in the cloche and see what happens if they fail then I'll get some seed for a variety that I actually want, no great shakes. Planted them early as I've so many other things to plant in March not sure where I'm going to put it all as I've only got window sills at the mo.
