  • Flower Seed Mixes

I was gonna start a wild flower, cottage garden area so I bought 3X 2.5 gram packets of mixed seed. Each has an assortment of approx 20 different flowers (can list if required) mixed with a little vermiculite.

    They are labelled:

    Butterfly Garden

    Wild Flower Garden

    Wild Bird Garden

I want to start growing Shallots, Pak choi, and Leeks if anyone can help. Or maybe any large, architectural, foliage plants such as Cotinus OR any other interesting Veg.

Ferns are also of interest although difficult to send I know.

Anyway the seeds are sow by March 2007..anyone interested?

That way, when you criticise them, you're a mile away and you have their shoes.

Hi Rutter & welcome to the Vine.

If you want colour & veg Swiss Chard "Rainbow Lights" takes some beating. Shallots ar easy enough. Depending on variety plant them in the ground after christmas & wait till around july time to harvest. You should get about 4 or 5 shallots off each bulb you plant (maybe more). Leeks, I love and would eat at every meal if I could - they don't go with cornflake though I grow about 4 different sorts as some will mature earlier than others, but a good all rounder is Musselburgh, readily available.

    Hope that helps
