  • flowers/ plants that like shade?

We have a border the length of the garden which is shaded due to trees growing. I'd like to have something other than ivy growing there! Something with a bit of colour, even if it is only for a week of the year!!

Some evergreen plants would be nice too.

It is quite a 'rustic' looking border, it isn't that defined and I like it like that, I just want the bare ground cheering up

I was going to ask this very question as I would like to tidy up the area at the back of my shed, Its not on my plot but I would like to make a raised bed and put some nice plants in, it would look better than the weeds that grow there and it is on the bank of the stream and doesnt get any sun, the trees block it out.
