  • How Many to a Hanging Basket??

Can anyone advise how many plants should be planted in each 12 inch Hanging Basket.
I have some good sized Giant Trailing Begonia and am not sure how many to plant in each. Also for the first time, I have some Sugar and Spice Sweet Pea which I bought from Gardening Direct but it doesn't indicate how many of these should go in a basket either.
    Your advices please??

If its a 12 inch basket I would put five maybe six plants but not more than six this will give them room to grow and shouldnt cramp them.

I'm not an expert in baskets and tubs Rayj, but the information I have is, for a good show, plant as many as you can get in, then feed and water accordingly.
Hope you get a great display.

From each according to his ability, to each according to his needs.

If you can garuantee constant watering and feeding I agree with Alice but larger diameter baskets are much easier to care for being more drought tollerent during dry weather.

I have a watering system for all the baskets so they won't be going dry. I have the clock set to water for ten minutes in the morning and again in the evening.
          Thanks for everyones advice.
