  • Replanting aubretia

    Hi,
My neighbour has lovely aubretia by his patio pavement. I always complimented him on them so he chopped a large piece of the plant and left by my doorstep for me. My question is how do I plant this back in my garden. They look a bit dried so I have put the roots in some water. I have a a little path in my garden leading to a step and would like to have these growing between the step and path. Any tips?
    cheers Reks

Sounds like a good place for the aubretia Reks. They do well beside walls and paths and things - they seem to like the little bit of lime they get from them. Just plant it in the usual way - dig out a hole, put the roots in and cover over. The plant will probably look a bit sad for a while but it should come back OK. If it looks a bit straggly give it a haircut. I hope it does well for you.

From each according to his ability, to each according to his needs.
