Veg gardener who doesn't have much flower experience here,this has appeared in my border on the front garden.I thought it was a Lenten Rose or something similar from the helebore family,but now it's "flowered" I'm not sure,I didn't plant it and it wasn't there last year,confused!

Looks like a Stinking Hellebore to me - I say this only because I saw one the other day whilst out walking and had to look it up

They can seed themselves about Burnie, so if you have them in nearby gardens the Hellebore could have seeded into yours.

Looks like Helleborus foetidus. Lovely thing, usually flowers very early (during Winter, rather than early Spring).Growing in the Garden of England

In my last garden Burnie I had helebores that flowered from November to May. Just lovely. I've brought some with me so hope they will do the same here. Look out for self sown seedlings then you'll get some more.
