As you may know our hedge is being laid (I know, I know lucky hedge!
) on 10th March. All along the bank where the hedge is are countless daffodils, especialy out the front where the whole street enjoys the display each year. I am worried they are all going to get trampled when the hedge is being done so I wondered about cutting them (possibly giving some to good neighbours to make up for the lack of display this year) to enjoy indoors but will this weaken the bulbs taking flowers when only just in bud. Indeed how do I know if they are ready to flower - I could end up cutting them only for them not to flower and if it weakened the bulbs too I would be heartbroken. Any advice would be much appreciated.
