  • Any ideas on this chap?

My pal tells me 'it has lost the flowers now but the leaves are still there and are still green' .... so it is obviously hardy

Could it be some sort of clematis?

Mind you, I haven't really got a clue so you'd best ignore me

It looks like Stock to me. There are several varieties and I can't think of the names offhand.

It could also be Solanium. Its a relation of the potato family.
I'm sure someone will be on here who can definitely identify it.

From what the little stalks look like once the flowers have dropped off, I'd be inclined to say wallflower too. The leaves are a similar shape to mine, but slightly bigger.

I'm thinking perennial wallflower also - maybe in its infancy

                Cheers chaps

I'd go with perennial wallflower too. It has the right seed pod shapes like SarzWix says. A bit like this one?
Erysimum linifolium Bowle's Mauve Wallflower Though yours is much nicer with the darker purple and yellow bits in the middle
