    I need idea on flowers to plant in pots in the next month and be already flowering at easter for a table top sale my partner is holding at an old peoples home to raise funds for the activites department.
    I already have the pots from the local flower shop but i don't normally grow flowers of any kind so your input would be realy handy.

    What sort of growing conditions have you got? I can't think of much off the top of my head, but heat and light will make a big difference as to whether there is anything you can grow in time. There is only 13 weeks to Easter from now, so I think you would need to get started. Maybe some quick growing annuals or something like coleus that has colourful leaves? Another idea may be to raid your garden of anything that will be showing some colour or what about some vegetable or herb plants? At Easter people will be looking for anything to grow, not just flowers.
    I could not live without a garden, it is my place to unwind and recover, to marvel at the power of all growing things, even weeds!

      how about a dual purpose pot? Get some crimson flowered broad beans, 3 to a pot if they are big ones then you'll get stunning crimson flowers with a scent that will knock you over and after that you get beans to eat

        3 types of lettuce to a pot,ready to eat,the supermarkets do them

          thank you for the ideas , will go with the veg and have some plants in the back garden that grows a 15' flower spike in it's second year then dyies

            Pansies & Violas are meant to be sown now, but I'm not sure you'd get them flowering by Easter.

            Might be better to wait til nearer the time & buy packs of cheap bedding from B&Q, and just pot them up/grow them on for a few weeks.

              I have things already in (sown in autumn) that will be flowering by Easter (sweet william, calendula etc), but you don't really have time or the weather on your side right now.

                I tend to put calendula in in September for an early flowering. You are also a bit early for tomatoes or bedding plants unless you issue a dire warning about not putting them out yet! Sounds like a brilliant idea - I hope you do well.
