  • Couple Aressted in Gambia

When I saw this on the news I wasnt sure if the lady was someone I knew or not, on reading the local paper I found out it is a lady that when she was little I used to babysit her. I havent seen her for years but I do see her 80 year old father sometimes, her mother passed away a few years ago. Please pray for her and her husband also the rest of her family.
I knew she was a missionary somewhere in that area but I didnt know her married name or her husbands name.

It's been big news up here as the hubbie is Scottish. Seems the hubby may have got over zealous due to health/marital probs. His friends up here (fellow missionaries) are calling for a pardon. Very sad news.

Jackie, I had not heard this story, so googled it.

Ah: Christian missionaries arrested in a Muslim country. Not so good.

This is news here in Sudan as well, another Muslim country with Brit Christian missionaries. There was a couple arrested here about 4 years ago apparently, again under charges of "sedition".
They were both held in separate prisons, in appalling conditions it would seem, but not for too long, only about 9 days each from what I hear.
Good luck for the 2 in this case, hopefully it will be resolved very soon, to the satisfaction of all.

The lady has an adopted small child with her and she is also being held.
