  • virus alert

Hi All, this was sent to me in a email today and thought i would share it with you all

I checked with Norton Anti-Virus, and they are gearing up for this virus!
I checked Snopes (URL above, and it is for real!!

Get this E-mail message sent around to your contacts ASAP.
PLEASE FORWARD THIS WARNING AMONG FRIENDS, FAMILY AND CONTACTS!

You should be alert during the next few days. Do not open any message with an attachment entitled 'POSTCARD FROM HALLMARK,' regardless of who sent it to you. It is a virus which opens A POSTCARD IMAGE, which 'burns' the whole hard disc C of your computer.

This virus will be received from someone who has your e-mail address in his/her contact list. This is the reason why you need to send this e-mail to all your contacts It is better to receive
this message 25 times than to receive the virus and open it.

If you receive a mail called' POSTCARD,' even though sent to you by a friend, do not open it! Shut down your computer immediately.

This is the worst virus announced by CNN. It has been classified by Microsoft as the most destructive virus ever. This virus was discovered by McAfee yesterday, and there is no repair yet for this kind of virus. This virus simply destroys the Zero Sector of the Hard Disc, where the vital information is kept.

COPY THIS E-MAIL, AND SEND IT TO YOUR FRIENDS. REMEMBER: IF YOU SEND IT
TO THEM, YOU WILL BENEFIT ALL OF US

Afraid this was going about this time last year.
Its just another " round robin email" that well intentioned people keep sending on to others.
I know your intentions are good and I'm not knocking you but the best place for this type of email is the recycle bin.
It has been said over and over again -
Never open an email or an attachment on an email unless you know and are expecting an email and know and trust the sender of the email. Most security programmes can scan the email and attachments to make sure but if in any doubt bin it - if it's important a genuine sender will resend it to you.
There comes a point in your life when you realize who matters, who never did, who won't anymore and who always will. Don't worry about people from your past, there's a reason why they didn't make it in your future.

*sigh* no offence but if its out there and there is advanced warning, AVG and Norton, plus several others including zonealarm will have this in their daily definitions download.

be aware by all means, get a decent anti-virus prog, but scaremongering emails defeat the object, and usually contain the very virus they are warning about...........GOTCHA!.
