  • James Martin... not digging deep at the moment!

I went to "Around the UK in 5 dishes" last night which was a dinner event cooked and hosted by the lovely James Martin at a hotel down the road to me.

As well as being even more gorgeous in the flesh , he was really friendly and at the end I asked him how his garden was going... he said that all he had was a pumpkin and seemed a little bit impressed when I said I still had carrots, peppers and chillies.

I watched that series as well, i also know he now employs a Gardener after stating on the series he wanted to do it all himself...!!

Saw him in the flesh 'so to speak' at Stonleigh last August Bank Holiday. He bought one of his many posh racing cars along.

hmmm... he did make a comment about not being able to get out there much and I laughed and said "what do you mean? you live there" Having said that, I'm sure he's very busy, but hiring a gardener - defeats the object a bit doesn't it?!

        yeah!
but at least he's reduced his food miles, and he's employing a local person.

Mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm he's as delish as his marshmallows (goes into a swoon). I watched one of his demos at Stoneleigh too, he's so funny but still down to earth too and a brilliant chef. So what if he doesn't do his garden now, I'd do it for him (don't think he'd fancy me though, he's younger than at least 2 of my children). Oh dear, I've come over all unneccessary now

He's not really my type. Not sure if I have a type but he (and Captain Jack) isn't it!

But you have to think if he's paying a gardener and all he has in his garden is a pumpkin, there's hope for you yet Maureen. Get your job application sent off I say!!

Actually, so do I! Maybe my type is big, hairy and cuddly but can cook. Better not tell himself. He's quite slim for his age - and only does one pot dishes - a bit limited!
