  • Books about allotment life

I have just read a couple of books about life on the allotments and I wondered how many other books were out there on a similiar theme. I have read One man and his dig and Two blokes, one shed, no idea. I spotted another in the library today called Digger Man but I resisted that one and got a more practical one instead;Your Own Allotment. Although I'm sure many of you allotmenteers have far more interesting tales to tell about life on the allotment than I could ever read in a book, can any of you recommend any other titles?

One I enjoyed very much was Michael Wale's View from a Shed from Allison and Busby. I think it's gone into paperback now, not too old, came out in 2006.
    Best wishes

If you search under the Recommendations category/forum, you'll see some older threads on the topic. Here's one: http://www.growfruitandveg.co.uk/gra...buy_20421.html

I skim readYour Own Allotment by Neil Russell-Jones last night and quite enjoyed it but was disappointed when the website associated with the book DHCS allotments was not available. Anybody know if it has been renamed?

              Cheers Joe

Oh yeah, also The Allotment Keepers Handbook by Jane Perrone, a good read. She has a blog & writes for the Guardian too. Perrone.blogs
