    Just bought one of these.........

    NEW FREEVIEW DIGITAL TV TUNER CARD 2008 VERSION USB 2.0 on eBay, also TV Cards, Graphics, Video TV Cards, Desktop PC Components, Computing (end time 14-Nov-08 12:42:57 GMT)


    What do you think? Anyone use/got one?

    Hopefully Ill be able to chuck the telly out of the spare room to make a bit more room!

    I could never get them to work. I had the laptop in the garden and could see the transmitter but no signal.
    My phone has more Processing power than the Computers NASA used to fake the Moon Landings

          OH had one in his work laptop, it would work when he was in the car outside the house, but not IN the house (Actually...not sure if I ever checked that...mebbe he just wanted to sit outside in the car...? )

            Seems to depend on where you live and how good the reception is. I checked out whether I can receive freeview channels in my area and got positive results so hopefully I'll be ok. I could get a splitter for the main house arial if need be!

                well you could just put it back on ebay cos someone else will buy it

                actually was thinking of getting one of these for son, so he can dispense with his telly while he's at uni ....... so they are no good then???

                  Sell you one cheap Lynda!

                  I've tried the little diddly arial they give you with it.........and nothing........signal weak apparently!
                  I've plugged in an old stealth type arial I had lying around............I got a signal for three channels, but no picture.
                  Next step, if it's within my price range is to get a splitter for the main arial.......run an extra lead across the roof to the other side of the house and bring it in through the window.........if I can be bothered!
                  Can't put it back on ebay as I ripped the packaging up and binned it.............come to think of it, thats where the dongle might finish up yet!

                  A project for the future methinks............talking of projects .......whats happening with the pallet coop these days?

                    lol 20p ?? .... i was gonna put the aerial to sons bedroom over the roof saw how high it was, and just put a splitter on the upstairs aerial and ran it through the wall ...... sorted ...... so they do work if plugged into an aerial then??

                    the coop looks wonderful ....... exactly the same as the last photo i took, lol ....... been too poorly to get out this last week or so, and especially in the rain, and having nothing to put in it yet ......... son and his mate are stopping tonight, so there may possibly be some news tomorrow depending of course on what quantity of alcohol is consumed tonight.

                      Buy Telecam TCE2001 Wideband Indoor TV Aerial With Amplifier. at Argos.co.uk

                      Works great.

                        Might give it a go NOG..thanks! From the blurb it appears if it doesn't work you can take it back for a full refund........sounds ok to me!
