  • How do women do it?

OK, I'm a mere man I know. However, how do you women multi-task?

Mrs A was curled up, knitting on the sofa, watching Little Dorrit last night.

I was reading a photography book about portraiture - and not watching the flickering box. I was engrossed in the book, studying lighting techniques and poses completely oblivious to anything else in the room.

Mrs A then pipes up, in between concentrating on her knitting and watching Little Dorrit - "That was a beautiful portrait of Grace Kelly on the previous page you were looking at"

I'm struggling to read my book with the TV on whilst Mrs A is completing row after row of perfect knitting, watching Little Dorrit and reading my book as well.

I'm speechless and in total awe - and more than a little afraid at times

How do you girlies do it? Can it be learnt?

nah, its superior brain power, sorry its genetic

seriously though women are better at multi-tasking than men, we have to be especially with children, imagine trying to cook dinner, load the washing machine and keep an eye on a toddler at the same time, then the phone rings? after that knitting whilst watching tv and reading a book at the same time is a rest!

        Now I'm afraid, very afraid.....

after all these years thinking I held the upper hand etc - I'm only as good as Mrs A lets me think I am.......... I'm off for a very large brandy.

Come to think of it - I usually agree with Mrs A's logic on anything for the house - if I disagree, she soon talks me out of it........

The downside to this genetic thing is a lot of us cant park! spatial awareness, right side brain function and all that! Can do 100 things at once and still park the car at the top of the multi storey where theres loads of spaces

Now watch me get shot down by ladies who CAN park

I can do a 3 point turn on a 5p piece, i can reverse around corners, i can reverse into spaces between parked cars (such as car parks), but ask me to reverse park behind a car on the road (such as outside my house), all i end up doing is lots and lots of swearing and i go screeching off down the road, its sooo embarassing, as im sooo perfect at everything else i do being a female! LOL

              BANG

I can park pretty well but, ask me to read a map Have you read the book by Alan and Barbara Pease "Why men don't listen and women can't read maps" very funny book about exactly the difference between the sexes.

apparently according to hubby and my dad i drive like a bloke and park like one as they say i operate a move it lose it policy however out of the 3 of us touch wood ive not had any accidents they have. my parkings not bad, but i prefer to reverse into spaces as i have better visability as i have a 1999 ford mondeo which has a long front end being only 5ft5 but with 27 inch inside leg i find it hard to see totally over the bonnet this is what makes reverse parking harder for me as the back end goes in fine but im so catious of the front it takes me longer. but as i said not accidents so far. but im good at multi tasking too, but strange how men seem to realise how much we can do at the same time but still have the cheek to often say can you just do or get me this while your multi tasking your several jobs at the same time. this is why we give birth to men! only women can handel that! also when they get a sniffel there dying let them have a period with the cramps from hell for a week then ask them whose mentally the stronger sex. god was a man as they get it too easy. yes my hubby knows his place, im wife number 2 all the best pc

S'easy!! Just this evening I was cooking dinner, loading the dishwasher, talking on the phone to my mum, checking out the window to see where my daughter and her mate were and making his lordship's coffee before I went to get him up. (he works nights)

He hates it when he tries to sneakily turn the telly over while I'm reading and I tell him I wa swatching 'that'. He will quiz me on whats happened, and I can tell him!! He hasn't got a hope.

i can read maps, i've never had a proper crash, (did take the roof off a van once, and lose a wheel going down a dual carriageway) have never reverse parked a car in my life, never needed to, much easier to go in forward at about 50, up onto the kerb and pull it round ..... sorted (we never did that when i did my test .... stoopid idea) ..... i can ride a motorbike, and jump over one on horseback, and jump over a horse on bike back ..... can cook a 3 course meal and have everything ready at the right time ....... and i can also smoke drink a brew and type at the same time ....... men can't even be ill properly

LMAO, that happens here all the time! I can read & watch telly at the same time, no problem! My parking's not too bad either, although if I'm really stressed my spacial awareness goes all to pot, but at least I know it! I passed my test first time as well but it took OH a couple of goes

Of course, I'm always right, but as I've got older I've learned to let him decide some stuff without arguing, and even manage not to say 'I told you so' when it all goes wrong...
