  • Euphorbia cuttings...

Hiaa, earlier this year..probably about May, i took some cuttings of my Euphorbias and a couple of weeks later, in the greenhouse under polythene bags they were just dying. I took the method from a book so i am unsure as to what went wrong?? any ideas or other methods??

I know i am telling you this about 6 months late..but i just thought i'd plan ahead for next year

    Thanks x

All euphorbias need good drainage... don't let them sweat or drown.
In spring, trim back your cutting to 4" in length - removing the bottom 2" of leaves.
Fill a 3" pot with a mixture of 50 per cent sand and 50 per cent compost and insert one cutting in each pot.
Leave in a cold frame or a shady place until the following spring, then plant the well-rooted cutting outside. If the cutting hasn't rooted, leave it until autumn.
