      Nope me neither.

I got a roasting when I was younger for refusing to dissect a bulls eyeball. They did a frog [one between 2 students] the week after but by then I was in the library whilst they did that section of the syllabus.

Some things just don't need to be done.

When I was small I kept a pet spider in a box, after a few days I showed him to my brother who told me the spider would keep on growing and become an elephant spider and eat the whole lot of us if I kept it in the box.

Needless to mention, I released the spider right away and told all my friends they must never catch a spider because it would grow into a giant.

If I remember rightly, a good dose of ethanol (or such like) was the quickest, least yucky way of despatching insect specimens. It doesn't seem to work on dragonfly larvae which just get extremely p*!!@d but recover and Caddisfly larvae seemed to get really aggressive before popping their clogs

A spider and a woodlouse are not insects.

The task sounds quite hard to fulfil at this time of year. Of course you could dig up some weevils, leather jackets and find some caterpillars/beetles.
