  • Glitter Glitter Everywhere

I have just had my Three year old great niece here for the afteroon while her mum went shopping and I thought it would be a good idea to do some sticking glitter everywhere even after I have cleared up !!!

There's a great email that goes around.

Woman in a rush to get to her smear test appointment grabs a flannel from the bathroom for a quick freshen up, then throws the flannel into the wash.
Goes for her smear, where the nurse says 'Well, we have made an effort today haven't we?' Woman doesn't know what she's talking about, but is just anxious to leave!
Later at home her daughter asks where her flannel is, mum tells her it's in the wash use another one,
Daughter wails 'But I had all my special glitter in my flannel'!!!

Don't suppose it's true, but it makes me smile!

One Christmas, many years ago when the children were young, I thought it would be a good idea to leave a trail of glitter to mark where Santa had trod. It started at the fireplace and went around the room to each of the places where Santa had left presents. Boy oh boy was that a mistake? We were still finding glitter at Easter. Even the dog had glitter in his coat for weeks afterwards.
It is the doom of man, that they forget.

Okey Dokey, as a mere man; why would anyone keep glitter in a flannel?
Sent from my pc cos I don't have an i-phone.

Every little girl knows that the best place to keep your special things is wrapped in your flannel! Or tucked in your pillowcase. Or in the washing machine drum. Or in your shoes. It's practice for the correct use of a handbag.

But I also have a son and I know about boys pockets too!!

Dont remind me boys pockets hmm one of my sons asked me for a jam jar I asked him what for he just kept saying cos I want one well I wouldnt let him have one till I knew so he put his hands in his coat pocket ( which had holes in as it was one for playing in ) and pulled out a handfull of worms. He also hid a slow worm in the cellar when he was older and one of his brothers told me. Funny how he now keeps loads of snakes, frogs , rats, dog, cat, stick insects, bearded dragon and other stuff that I cant recall. not in my house I hasten to add.

I soooo want to believe this is true.

I still love using glitter, now. A couple of years back I started making all my own birthday cards again, and bought glitter glue pens. Much more fun and the recipients like 'em better, too!

I promise this one is true - my very beetroot faced friend came direct from the surgery to tell me!

Whilst in the treatment room, awaiting the nurse, my friend grabbed a tissue from her handbag to 'freshen up' a little. During the procedure, the nurse went very quiet, reached for another instrument from the dish and silently passed my friend a pair of forceps gripping a postage stamp!!! Must have been attached to the tissue from the bottom of her handbag.

Even now I feel the need to remind her of it - just to watch her blush! Stangely she didn't find the glitter story that funny!

Glitter is like a social disease, it gets everywhere.

OH hates cards with glitter on with a vengance. So how the hell I got away with a glittery anniversary card I don't know, although probably because this was the one year she didn't give me a card.
I am certain that the day my boat comes in, I'll be at the airport.
