  • Rain good, flooding bad

sheeeeeeeeeeeeeeesh, it rained and rained today...so much so that the beck flooded...and underneath all that are my onions and garlic

I am a newbie and only been at the 'growing your own' in the last 6 weeks or so.....and right now I am worried about the onions and garlic almost as much as I worry about my pets....

I am just thankful that I had not planted the cabbages out

If the water subsides fast enough, they may be ok... Fingers crossed for you Safhyre.

Where do you grow? Is it at home or on an allotment? Reason I ask is; if the flooding may happen again, could you move your veg patch? Or could you look at building raised beds in the parts that are flooded?

my plot is at home......with the amount of flooding I had I would say raised beds will not make a difference ...I guess moving is the best option, but the thought of starting from scratch.....
