    i just knew it wasn't a good idea :(

    just got a phone call off my son's g/f ..... apparently one of the lads he went on holiday with beat him up, and hes got 2 black eyes, the police have been out cos theres been loads of complaints about the four lads in the other room,and it looks like they are going to be deported (thankfully sons room have been more responsible, and there hasn't been any complaints about them, but cos they booked all 8 places together if 4 get sent home, the other 4 do too) i'm now worried sick, in case theres any more trouble ..... i knew something bad was gonna happen

    just worried now

    Oh dear.

    Lads hey.

    At least they are being deported and not being held anywhere.

    Every day is a learning day eh???

      oh yeah, but he got bail insurance against that lol ....... bloody kids, why cant they learn that if alcohol makes them violent, or likely to act like a pillock then don't drink so flipping much grrrrrrr

          One of his friends beat him up?! Wonder if alcohol had been consumed . They'll probably be mates again by the time they get on the plane home. As zazen999 said, at least they are not locked up somewhere. Hope it all works out okay and they get home with no more incidents.

            put him and his mate on jankers for the week - washing floors, painting coal, cutting the lawn with nail scissors, you know the sort of thing

              It's all a learning curve. I didn't tell the whole story of my youngest's trip last month as I didn't want to frighten you even more.

              He and his mates were evicted from their hotel halfway through the holiday. If it hadn't been for some girls they met who lived out there they would have been sleeping on the beach.

              They eventually got home safely, poorer and wiser.

                when i see his 'mate' i'll do more than make him paint bloody coal ...... still waiting to find out whats going on, rob cant get a signal on his phone, and apparently he doesn't know what a phone box is .... i've calmed down a bit, but not sure about getting any of that sleep stuff ....... still waiting for tummy to stop doing somersaults

                      Hope he is ok thats the trouble with a lot of groups unfortunatly, someone always causes trouble and I always tell my kids you might not do anything wrong but if anyone else in the group does it will come back on you as well.
                      Dont be too cross with him when he gets home.

                        My boys take off abroad with their mates at the drop of a hat, nothing like this has ever happened, but I know it's only good luck and I worry constantly when they're gone. As for the alcohol, an American once told them that no matter where you go in the world, if you become desperate to find a fellow English speaker, just go out at 4am and approach anyone who's managed to find a beer at that time and it's bound to be a Brit or an Aussie. This obviously works because that's how he'd found my lads.
                        I hope he's soon home with you Lynda, as I know you have no hope of peace until you have him safely back.
                        Into each life some rain must fall........but this is getting ridiculous.

                          Oh no, that's terrible. My boys are only 4 and 1 and now I'm worrying about them doing the same in 15 years or so too! Hope they get home ok. maybe next time he will pick some 'proper' friends to go with and not ones who like to beat him up!

                            What a g*t! Some mate. I don't know - even though 'lads will be lads' and alcohol obviously fuels things, beating someone up??? That's pretty nasty - I'm so sorry. It's one things snogging your mate's girlfriend and blaming booze, but violence is in another league. I seriously hope your lad ditches this 'mate' completely.

                            Good luck getting him home safely - he'll know much more next time. Poor thing - he's probably pretty upset himself.

                              No matter how much alcohol is consumed, beating someone up is hardly friendly behaviour! Sounds like he should be getting rid of this 'mate'. Hopefully they'll just get a warning and take heed.

                              How sad about the Brit/Aussie stereotype. Even sadder that it's true.
