  • Dilemma: how do I cope with wind?

I am sat here waiting for a business call to come in (yes I know, regular little Alan Sugar is I) ...now normally I would just divert to my mobile and scoot off to lottie and deal with spuds/biz call/Alan Sugaring no worries.

BUT - it is blowing a windy thing out there and when the call comes in (which will be as soon as I put the spade in!) they will hear wind - so, my options:
    a) stay put and wait for call
    b) go to lottie and leave mobly to take call, saying I was in meeting
    c) go to lottie, take call at lottie and say 'I'm just working on a project for a client which is taking place in a wind-tunnel, we are testing noise levels
    d) other

    advise...

Wrap your phone in a big furry sock - bit like what they do with sound booms on telly.

Or take a cardboard box with you, when you get the call put the box over your head and take the call. Your client will think you're in a big office of someone obviously important.

Or you could say you're trying a new phone and the hands free bit isn't great - would they mind if you called back when you can get your other phone working.

What no shed, foowee, you guys need to kick some serious butt. An allotment is not an allotment without a shed. Do you have a communal one?

tell the caller you're in a meeting in a hot air balloon courtesy of an important client~never know, they may just think thats the norm & to keep up with the Jones' hey presto book a real hot air balloon for their next meeting with you!!

Even I've got a shed, but then I had to pay £250,000 to get my 'allotment', aka the garden!!

I clicked on this thinking someone had the windypops, tee hee hee!

Oh forgot, I'd go for the shed option if you have it, or just say it's a really bad line!

I'm back having pulled a good few 1lbs of spuds, spinach, peas and courgettes and the phone never rang - I sat down (at desk, Yes I Diiid!) with a cuppa and client rang - perrrrfect timing just thankfully he couldn't see my finger nails...must try using a fork next time!

Definately, or you may get a treat of some winter spuds.

My usual excuse when people say 'are you outside'; 'yes, I don't have a very good signal in the house, and we live in the country...so I have to take calls outdoors'.
